Animal Welfare
The Midfield Group is committed to the highest level of animal welfare and the humane treatment of livestock, with animal health and wellbeing at the forefront of its day-to-day work ethic.
Midfield's Quality Assurance Manager is the chairman of the Bobby Calf Animal Welfare Advisory Committee and the Midfield organisation was actively involved in the development of the Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) animal welfare standards, which are now world recognised.
This animal welfare legislation is supported by the Government's Model Codes of Practice. Australia's animal welfare legislation and AMIC's standard are verified by Commonwealth and State inspectors and commercial auditors.
Midfield's livestock handlers and processors are required to be trained and competent. These employees undertake Animal Welfare Officer training and many also undertake Livestock Handling training.
Midfield will continue to maintain the high standards of animal welfare we prides ourselves on and work with state and federal organisations, such as AMIC, to ensure we adopt best practice in this field at all times.
