Midfield livestock officer Jamie Williams acknowledges the logic in attending the Sungold Field Days year in and year out.
"It's a no-brainer, really," Jamie says.
"Midfield prides itself on its relationship with the farming community, on getting down to the grassroots and instigating and maintaining relationships with farmers and their families by going to their properties, sharing their approach to farming and appreciating their commitment to Midfield.
"So it's only natural that we also support our field days, and use these annual opportunities to catch up with our suppliers in a traditional, agricultural setting."
Jamie says each and every year dozens of farmers and their families drop in to the Midfield tent.
"The field days are a great extension of the service Midfield offers to farmers.
"This year once again we had lots of people through our site and the field days offer Midfield a great opportunity to extend the grassroots, personal and successful approach it takes to business."
Jamie has been with Midfield for nine years, relishing the opportunity to foster his love of the land when he took on the field officer role six years ago.
He worked as a drover at the abattoirs and then in the office before his current role became available - an opportunity he grasped with both hands.
"Farming is my passion, right from the days I spent growing up on a beef and fat lamb farm at Hawkesdale. I think that's one of the elements that makes Midfield's field services team so functional, we all have history with our own properties and continue to be involved in farming today.
"It makes it much easier to relate to our clients when we also have farming experience.
"The field days have been great for us to catch up with our clients in a relaxed environment and they also allow us to catch up with suppliers and other industry reps, accordingly strengthening the strong relationships we have formed in the field."
