At Midfield, we understand the issues that relate to life on the land.
After all, the fruits of the land are the core of our business.That's why we established our Market Direct service, where farmers can sell livestock directly to us. We want to ensure a long-term market, a continuity of supply and help our farmers as well.
This initiative - which is used by 3000 farmers - is a natural progression from our pastoral investments, which, in turn, are a continuation of the relationship we have with more than 1200 farmers throughout Victoria and south-east South Australia who are partners with us in our innovative bull beef program.
More than 150,000 bulls have been successfully processed through this program, which is industry recognised and allows each animal able to be fully traced from origin to processing through the National Livestock Identification Scheme.
We have great faith in those we work with and a strong commitment to those who live on the land. After all, we understand the challenges farmers face; they are our challenges too.
A significant factor behind Midfield's success is the close relationship Midfield has with primary producers in the surrounding region. To cement this relationship, and secure a continuity of supply, the company established Midfield Direct, a marketing system for producers to sell their stock directly to Midfield, rather than through the saleyards system. This popular alternative to the traditional methods of selling is now used by more than 3000 farmers, who enjoy the convenience of the initiative and the reduced expense.
